Response to COV ID 19

People enter care homes when they are at their most vulnerable.  They need a committed team of managers and carers to deliver 24 hr care. These teams are working closely with:-

  • NHS staff
  • Social Workers
  • Community care staff

So that they can provide the level of care required during the challenges that COV ID 19 presents.

The workforce across the whole of the UK is finding itself in strange times.  As the lockdown affects workers across industries, the care sector is under strain due to staff shortages.  For example, we are seeing staff previously employed in the air industry discovering they have a skill set that is ideal for the care sector.

We at Jubilee are pleased to be helping with this major effort to provide temporary and permanent staff in this rewarding area of work. As an example of the type of workers

we are seeing entering the workforce:-

Women change careers after having children and find the care sector a good fit for skills they have gained in childcare. The care sector can also be a good career for balancing childcare and working life.

  • Young workers often enter the sector whilst also studying for qualifications. These workers find the experience of working directly with people of all ages and at different stages in their lives, gives them with a level of knowledge that is invaluable.
  • Workers regularly make career changes in middle age and the care sector sees an increase in men entering the sector in this age group. A career in care gives workers a level of satisfaction that can be life enhancing.
  • Workers previously employed in the sector and wish to return to this area of work are well positioned to find job opportunities across a range of care settings.

There can be no better time for entering the social care workforce than now.  During this time of national crisis there are opportunities for personal change not least in your career direction.
